Tony Romo also cited for open container in vehicle as drunken driving arrest saga continues

Fox News · 2 hours ago

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has been cited for having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle, adding a further charge to his recent arrest for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) in Wisconsin. The additional citation compounds the legal fallout for Romo, a high-profile former NFL star who now works as a leading television football analyst, and comes amid wider media attention on the incident, including released police bodycam footage.

Fox News Digital obtained three citations issued to Romo, one of which was for possessing an open intoxicant in a vehicle, after an open bottle of alcohol was found on the passenger side of his car during the arrest last week. Police discovered the bottle while carrying out an inventory of the vehicle, a 2020 Jeep, ahead of it being towed.
