Tori Amos paid tribute to the late Glen Hansard by performing his song "Falling Slowly" for the first time live, during her concert at Boston's Leader Bank Pavilion on Friday night. The cover, delivered midway through her set, marked her first known performance of the track and adds her to a growing list of musicians and public figures honouring Hansard since his death.

Hansard, who died in a motorcycle crash in Dublin on 29 July, co-wrote "Falling Slowly" with Markéta Irglová as part of their duo the Swell Season; the song later became the centrepiece of their film "Once" and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2008. Other tributes have come from Irish President Catherine Connolly, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Warren Ellis, Sharon Van Etten and Barack Obama, while footage has also emerged of Hansard's final performance at a Dublin pub hours before the crash; a public wake is being held in Dublin on 3 August, followed by a funeral at St Patrick's Cathedral on 4 August. Amos is currently touring North America in support of her album "In Times of Dragons".
