## Key points

- Arsenal arrived without a win in five WSL games.
- Tottenham had conceded 12 goals in two matches.
- Slegers was under pressure as Arsenal coach.

## Summary

Tottenham hosted Arsenal in a Women’s Super League north London derby, part of a day of football coverage across the UK. The match mattered particularly for Arsenal coach Renée Slegers, who was under pressure after the team’s title challenge had faltered.

Arsenal, the 2025 European champions, had gone five WSL matches without a win. Tottenham had made a decent start but conceded 12 goals across their previous two games, becoming only the second side in WSL history to ship six or more in consecutive matches; kick-off was scheduled for 12.45pm BST.
