Tottenham Hotspur are in advanced talks to sign Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush, though no agreement has yet been reached, as part of a summer attacking overhaul under manager Roberto De Zerbi that looks set to exceed £300m in total spending. The move follows Friday's confirmed £75m deal for City winger Savinho and comes alongside £229.5m already spent on defender Jan Paul van Hecke and midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, with the club seeking cover after injury problems for striker Dominic Solanke and uncertainty over Richarlison's contract, which enters its final year.

Marmoush, a 26-year-old Egypt international, joined City for £59m in January 2025 after an impressive spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 17 goals in his debut season and 15 Bundesliga goals in the first half of 2024-25, including a run of three consecutive free-kick goals. His City career has been mixed, featuring a hat-trick against Newcastle and a goal-of-the-season contender versus Bournemouth, but also a missed penalty in the 2025 FA Cup final defeat by Crystal Palace. His game time shrank significantly in 2025-26 (eight Premier League starts, roughly 700 minutes) as he competed for space in a squad built around Erling Haaland, despite underlying numbers suggesting his finishing was not the issue.

Tottenham are closing in on a major reshuffle of their forward line, with Manchester City among the clubs involved on the selling side. Savinho, a 22-year-old Brazilian winger, has struggled for regular playing time under City manager Pep Guardiola despite interest from Spurs a year earlier, when he chose to stay at the Etihad. Omar Marmoush, an Egyptian forward also at City, is the other player being discussed as part of the same push.

The moves are being driven by Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, who is looking to strengthen his attacking options. This comes against a backdrop of fitness concerns for striker Dominic Solanke and uncertainty over the future of winger Richarlison, both of which have left Spurs short of firepower up front.

Manchester City's willingness to let both players go reflects their own selection choices under Guardiola, while for Tottenham the scale of the spending involved marks a significant statement of intent under their new manager.
