‘Toxic’ Season 2, Hosted by Elizabeth Chambers, Sets Investigation Discovery Premiere Date, Unveils First Trailer (EXCLUSIVE)
Investigation Discovery has announced that "Toxic," the true crime series hosted by Elizabeth Chambers, will return for a second season on 15 September, accompanied by a first-look trailer. The series examines toxic and abusive romantic relationships through first-hand accounts from survivors and their loved ones, aiming to shed light on how such dynamics can escalate into violence. Its renewal reflects the strong reception of true crime and domestic abuse-focused programming for the network.
The new season opens with "Don't Go Home," recounting the relationship between Jenn Holman and Jesse Winnick, and will go on to cover cases including alleged abuse within the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church network, a woman's marriage to a much older man, and the murder of University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love. Episodes air Tuesdays at 10pm ET/PT on ID and stream on HBO Max, with Chambers, an investigative journalist and survivor advocate, once again drawing on her own experiences to guide the interviews. The show is produced for Investigation Discovery by Breaklight Pictures.
