Toy Story 5 will arrive on digital platforms on 18 August 2026, roughly two months after its cinema release, following a run that has pushed its global box office takings past $1 billion. The extended theatrical window, longer than recent releases such as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu and Masters of the Universe, reflects the film's strong commercial performance, which comes despite reports that Disney has been cutting Pixar staff following the underperformance of Hoppers.

The film will be available to rent or buy through services including Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV from 18 August, while DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD editions, including a limited-edition steelbook and box sets pairing it with the original Toy Story and all five films in the franchise, follow on 22 September. Toy Story 5 has grossed over $1 billion against an estimated $250 million budget, making it the third highest-grossing film of 2026 so far, and is expected to reach Disney+ around mid-September based on the pattern set by recent Pixar releases. Pixar's next original film, Gatto, is due in cinemas on 5 March 2027, with no confirmation yet of a further Toy Story sequel.
