The album, centred on Randy Newman's instrumental score, achieved its best-ever performance for the franchise when it landed at number 67 on the overall Billboard 200, surpassing all previous Toy Story soundtrack entries.

The record's commercial momentum was substantially driven by Taylor Swift's newly composed contribution to the film, which individually claimed the top spot on the Hot 100 singles chart. This represented a significant career milestone for Swift whilst also marking a rare achievement for animated studio releases, as only two previous songs from Disney animated features had managed to reach the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100.
