Tracey Ullman, Sam Spruell and Jerome Flynn have joined the cast of FX's sci-fi series Alien: Earth for its second season, as production gets under way in London. The additions signal that the well-received adaptation of the Alien franchise, created by Noah Hawley, is expanding its ensemble as filming begins.

Spruell's casting reunites him with Hawley, having previously appeared in the fifth season of Hawley's Fargo. The trio join returning Season 1 cast members including Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant and Essie Davis, alongside earlier Season 2 addition Peter Dinklage. Details of their characters and the plot remain under wraps. Season 1 is set in 2120, when Earth is run by five corporations and a hybrid prototype named Wendy encounters terrifying alien life forms after a spaceship crash.
