Travis Barker has revealed that he once performed a blink-182 show high, in a rare exception to his usual practice of staying sober for gigs, and the experience left both him and bandmate Tom DeLonge desperate for it to end. He described the ordeal during a new interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, saying songs felt endless and that he noticed his surroundings in unusual ways while drumming through the set.

Barker traced the story to a tour with No Doubt and Cypress Hill, when the group's B-Real and Sen Dog persuaded him to smoke with them before the final show, arguing they would be leaving straight afterwards. Midway through the performance, DeLonge told Barker he wanted to go home, to which Barker agreed it had been "so awful," while bandmate Mark Hoppus remained unaware anything was wrong. The interview comes ahead of the 13 August release of Barker's documentary Louder Than Fear on Hulu and Disney+, and follows recent news that blink-182 are working on a new album.
