‘Treasure Island’: Hayley Atwell, David Oyelowo & Tom Sweet Hit The High Seas In First Look At MGM+ & Paramount+ Pirate Series
Paramount+ and MGM+ have released the first look images for their upcoming pirate drama Treasure Island, a six-part series reimagining Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure novel. The show stars Hayley Atwell as Bess Hawkins and David Oyelowo as Long John Silver, and follows young Jim Hawkins and his determined mother as they acquire Captain Flint's legendary treasure map and are drawn into a dangerous hunt for riches.
The series, produced by Playground Entertainment in association with Fifth Season, premieres on MGM+ in the US on 11 October and on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland on 12 October, with weekly episodes running until mid-November. The cast also includes Tom Sweet as Jim Hawkins, Jack Huston, Tomer Capone, Craige Els, Tristan Sturrock and Neil Pendleton. Robert Murphy, known for Vera and Shetland, created the series, with Jeremy Lovering, William McGregor and Paul Walker directing.
