## Key points

- Trollfest’s new album brings back a heavier sound.
- Its songs pair absurd humour with energetic metal.
- “Day Drinking” stands out as a likely crowd favourite.

## Summary

Norwegian folk metal band Trollfest have released “Trollywood”, an album that keeps their comic songs and party spirit while bringing heavier, more forceful metal back to the fore. The review presents it as a lively follow-up to 2022’s successful “Flamingo Overlord”, with music that balances deliberately daft lyrics and convincing musicianship.

The opening “Attention” pairs blastbeats with fast polkas, while “Troll Brigade” and “Bar Of Mud” show the band’s darker and more symphonic sides. “Day Drinking” is singled out as a likely live favourite, and the closing “The Troll Oscars” mixes accordion, awkward time signatures and jagged riffs; “Get On The Offbeat” adds a brief electronic, funk-influenced detour.
