Trump indicates support for Christian-backed plan to help Canadian Jews escape antisemitism

Fox News · 2 hours ago

Christian lawmakers and religious leaders are urging President Donald Trump to help create an expedited immigration pathway for Jewish Canadians who say they face rising antisemitism, and Trump has signalled support by sharing a report on the plan with his followers on Truth Social. The National Association of Christian Lawmakers (NACL), led by Jason Rapert, wants Trump to press Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney over perceived obstacles blocking more than 2,000 Jewish Canadians who have expressed interest in relocating to the United States.

In a letter sent to Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and congressional leaders, Rapert, former ambassador Sam Brownback and more than 50 other signatories asked the administration to direct the State Department and Department of Homeland Security to establish "lawful, secure, and appropriately expedited pathways" for Jewish Canadians facing persecution. The letter cites Canada's roughly 7,000 reported antisemitic incidents against a population of about 41 million, compared with fewer than 6,300 in the US, which has a population of over 342 million, framing the disparity as evidence of a disproportionately severe problem north of the border.
