The White House has launched a 24-hour YouTube livestream called “Trump TV”, showing reruns of Donald Trump’s speeches, bill signings and other appearances. It began shortly after Trump barred CNN, MS Now and Politico from the White House, prompting criticism that the administration was creating government-controlled media while restricting independent reporting.

The station was promoted by White House digital strategy chief Kaelan Dorr as a way to showcase Trump’s “greatest hits” and achievements, which he said had been inaccurately or insufficiently reported. The launch was criticised by Governor Gavin Newsom, while the excluded outlets sued, alleging threats to press freedom; ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC later jointly condemned the ban.
