Paramount+ has confirmed that Tulsa King, its crime dramedy starring Sylvester Stallone as an Oklahoma mobster, will return for a fourth season, releasing a teaser trailer alongside the announcement. The season also brings another change of showrunner, with original creator-era writer Terence Winter returning as head writer and executive producer following the departure of season three showrunner Dave Erickson, who reportedly clashed with Stallone over the show's creative direction. This continued turnover behind the scenes underlines the persistent instability in the show's writers' room even as it remains one of Paramount+'s bigger hits.

Season four premieres on Friday 16 October on Paramount+, with Boardwalk Empire's Gretchen Mol joining the cast as a series regular. The synopsis teases Dwight (Stallone) fighting to legitimise his criminal empire amid corrupt politicians, new enemies and personal loss, pulling him back towards his old New York instincts. Winter, who wrote The Wolf of Wall Street, originally developed the series and ran its first season before stepping aside; he then returned as head writer for season two under on-set showrunner Craig Zisk, before Erickson took over for season three. The returning cast includes Martin Starr, Frank Grillo, Neal McDonough, Kevin Pollak and Garrett Hedlund, among others.
