Turnstile reveal Elton John collaboration on NEVER ENOUGH companion album
Developing story first seen 3 hours ago
Turnstile have confirmed further details of NEVER ENOUGH: VERSIONS, a "reimagined" companion to their Grammy-winning 2025 album NEVER ENOUGH, including its release date of 28 August on Roadrunner Records and news of an accompanying US tour. The Baltimore band describe the project as neither a remix nor a covers album, and it stands out for the remarkable breadth of artists involved, from pop and electronic acts to death metal veterans, reinforcing the group's genre-defying reputation.
The most eye-catching contributor is Elton John, alongside Slayyyter, Blood Orange, Four Tet, Hayley Williams, Faye Webster, A. G. Cook, Julien Baker, Alex G, Oklou, Porches, Floating Points, Chanel Beads, Shabaka, Kettama and Mustafa. Several names, including Panda Bear, Angel Du$t, Nourished By Time, Dan Deacon, Brandon Woody, Rod Lee and death metal act Dying Fetus, hail from Baltimore or its surrounding area, reflecting the band's local roots. The accompanying tour begins next month with 16 dates and rotating, curated lineups featuring acts such as Clipse, Ceremony, Thundercat, Hatebreed, Vince Staples, Pennywise and Yves Tumor.

Turnstile are a hardcore punk band from Baltimore who broke through to a much wider audience with their 2025 album NEVER ENOUGH, which went on to win a Grammy. The band have built a reputation for mixing heavy, aggressive music with pop and dance influences, which has made them popular with fans well outside the usual hardcore scene.
They have now announced a companion record called NEVER ENOUGH: VERSIONS, which reworks material from the original album with a long list of guest musicians. The band say it is not a straightforward remix or covers project, and the appeal lies in the unusually wide range of artists taking part, spanning pop, electronic and metal, alongside several musicians from Turnstile's home city of Baltimore.
The record is set for release in late August through the label Roadrunner, and arrives alongside a run of live tour dates. It matters because it reflects how far Turnstile have moved beyond their hardcore roots, drawing collaborators from very different musical worlds into one project.
