Two brothers have been jailed after their cars were driven at speeds of up to 100mph while racing on a country road in Powys, causing a head-on collision that killed Rhys Jenkins, 41, and seriously injured his nine-year-old son, Ioan. Abubakr Ben Yusaf, who was driving a BMW X3, received 14 years for causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and causing death while uninsured. His brother Umar, driving an Audi S4 behind him, was sentenced to two years and nine months for causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving. The crash happened on the A483 in November 2024; Ioan was airlifted to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital with broken arms, a fractured rib and a perforated bowel.
