Two ‘evil’ predators tried to rape me at knifepoint when I was 15. Freed from jail, one instantly struck again… the other says he is ‘coming back with a bang’

A woman known as Sarah has described the lasting trauma of being attacked at knifepoint by two men when she was 15, after learning that both attackers have since been released from prison. Muzakkir Miah and Ishion Swift were jailed in July 2018 for the attempted rape, which took place near her aunt's house in Limehouse, east London, in May 2016. Since their release, Swift has already sexually assaulted another woman, while Miah has boasted online about returning "with a bang," leaving Sarah fearful for her safety in the area where both grew up.

Miah, then 22, held Sarah at knifepoint while Swift, then 19, attempted to rape her; both were sentenced to nine years, with Miah receiving a further four years on licence. Neither served the full term: Swift was freed halfway through his sentence and, within months, sexually assaulted a woman in High Wycombe in May 2023, for which he received a nine-week sentence and a £154 fine. Miah, released in April 2026 after the Parole Board ruled he no longer posed a danger, had used a smuggled phone in prison to post about his forthcoming freedom and has since shared images of luxury cars and watches on social media. Sarah, now a mother of two, has installed extra bolts on her front door and says she and a friend have faced abusive messages disputing that the attack occurred.
