Two men are charged with murder over death of man, 27, who was punched while cycling

Daily Mail · 1 hour ago

Two men have been charged with murder after a 27-year-old man died from injuries sustained in an "unprovoked" attack while he was cycling in Leicester. George Glover was punched during the assault on Narborough Road at around 6.30am on Monday and later died in hospital, prompting his family to pay tribute to a "hardworking" and "loving" young man. The case underlines the seriousness with which police are treating what they have described as a violent, unprovoked attack.

Chae Smith, 31, and Joshua Cook, 24, have both been charged with murder and robbery, with Smith facing an additional charge of possession of a bladed article. A third person, Louise O'Connor, 39, has been charged with one count of robbery. Mr Glover was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham after being found injured by a member of the public, and died three days later; his family described him as someone who enjoyed gaming, Lego and Pokémon cards and who had overcome physical challenges earlier in life.
