Two Metropolitan Police constables have been arrested following allegations of assault and sexual assault that arose during an off-duty holiday to Budapest, where a group of 15 officers from the same station stayed together in June. A female officer alleges one male colleague forcibly pulled her from a room by her arm during a "wild" sex party involving several colleagues, and that she was separately sexually assaulted by a second officer. One officer, based at Central North Command, was arrested on suspicion of assault on 31 August, while a second officer from the same command was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on 3 September; both have been bailed and suspended from duty. Sources say some sergeants were among the group and are being questioned over a reported "lack of supervision", with insiders noting the trip has resulted in criminal complaints despite the informal notion that "what goes on tour stays on tour". The Met says the investigation is complex and ongoing, and stressed that all allegations of criminality or misconduct are treated with the utmost seriousness.
