Tyler Robinson ‘CONFESSION’ letter left for trans lover broadcast briefly in court snafu

Daily Mail · 2 hours ago

During a weeklong evidence hearing in Utah, images of an alleged confession note said to have been written by Tyler Robinson — the 23-year-old accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk — were briefly livestreamed to the public, despite a judge having explicitly ruled that material the state describes as a "confession" should not be broadcast before jury selection. The blunder matters because Robinson faces the death penalty if convicted, and the premature disclosure of contested evidence risks prejudicing potential jurors in a high-profile capital case.

Robinson is accused of shooting Kirk in front of thousands at Utah Valley University on 10 September 2025. Prosecutors say he left the note for his transgender partner and roommate, Lance Twiggs, under a keyboard at their home. Two images were shown — one of a burnt version of the note and one of an intact copy taken from Twiggs's phone — before Judge Tony Graf noticed the error and had them removed. In the note, Robinson reportedly addressed Twiggs by the chosen name "Luna" and wrote that he had left "on a mission," saying he was "likely dead, or facing a lengthy prison" sentence. Twiggs confirmed finding the note in a police interview in April.

  • Alleged confession note was accidentally livestreamed despite a judge's ban.
  • Tyler Robinson, 23, faces the death penalty over Charlie Kirk's killing.
  • Note was addressed to his partner and left under a keyboard.
