## Summary

A moving truck was seen outside Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s official residence a day after she conceded the mayoral election to challenger Nithya Raman. Bass’s defeat ends her single term and makes her the first Los Angeles mayor in more than two decades to lose a bid for re-election.

By Friday evening, Raman led by nearly 68,500 votes, with 53.56% to Bass’s 46.44%, out of more than 961,000 counted. Voters’ concerns included homelessness, public safety, city services and the administration’s response to the January 2025 wildfires. Raman is due to take office on 14 December; it is not known whether she will live at Getty House, the mayor’s official residence since 1977.
