Fox's broadcast of the United States Men's National Soccer Team's World Cup Round of 16 match against Belgium on Monday 6 July drew an average of 33,086,000 viewers, making it the most-watched soccer telecast in US history. The figure marks NFL-level ratings for the fixture, and represents the biggest US television audience for any programme since Super Bowl LX in February and the largest non-NFL telecast since Game 7 of the 2016 World Series.
The USMNT was eliminated after a 4-1 defeat by Belgium in front of a full crowd at Seattle Stadium, with viewership peaking at 41.03 million between 9.15 and 9.30 p.m. ET. Top local markets included Kansas City, Boston and Seattle, while the Round of 16 overall averaged 14.465 million viewers on Fox — up 216% on 2022. The tournament has also boosted Spanish-language coverage, with Telemundo recording its highest total-day audience in Spanish TV history on 5 July; the 39-day competition runs from 11 June to 19 July.
