## Key points

- U2 and Martin Garrix release dance-pop collaboration “Fireflies”
- The Edge joined Garrix for its Tomorrowland premiere
- U2’s new album is due later in 2026

## Summary

U2 and Dutch DJ Martin Garrix have released “Fireflies”, a collaborative single that blends the band’s anthemic rock style with contemporary dance-pop production. It marks the first direct collaboration between Garrix and all four members of U2, and arrives as the band prepares to release a new album later in 2026.

Garrix premiered the song at Tomorrowland on 17 July, joined on guitar by The Edge. The pair had previously worked together indirectly: Garrix produced U2’s “Scars” from April’s Easter Lily EP, while he collaborated with Bono and The Edge on 2019 UEFA European Championship theme “We Are The People”; U2 also released “Street of Dreams” earlier in July.
