## Key points

- Zelensky is expected to make a state visit to the UK in 2027.
- Officials say the visit is not yet finalised.
- The visit would signal support during the fifth year of war.

## Summary

The UK is expected to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on a state visit in 2027, signalling continued British support as Russia’s war enters its fifth year. The visit is still being considered and has not been finalised, with its timing undecided.

Zelensky is also invited to the G20 summit in Manchester next November, but the state visit is unlikely to coincide with it. Officials may adapt the usual lavish banquet to reflect his role as a wartime leader; he has visited the UK about 13 times since the invasion began. The visit could raise tensions with US President Donald Trump, who has recently criticised Zelensky.
