## Key points

- Russia alleges explosives were hidden in drone goggles for its troops.
- Some goggles may have reached the frontline.
- Ukraine has not commented on the accusation.

## Summary

Russia’s FSB says it uncovered a Ukrainian plot to conceal explosives in FPV drone goggles intended for Russian troops, potentially putting pilots and aid volunteers at risk. Ukraine has not commented, and the allegation has not been independently verified.

The FSB says X-ray examinations found improvised devices where cooling components should have been. A volunteer said some goggles may have reached the frontline, but it is unclear whether anyone was injured; other witnesses said they alerted security officials before passing on the equipment. The claim recalls the 2024 pager and walkie-talkie explosions in Lebanon and Syria, which Israel was widely reported to have carried out against Hezbollah.
