Anastasiia Berezovska, prime suspect in Monaco oligarch bombing, found shot dead near Kyiv
A Ukrainian woman suspected of carrying out a bomb attack on a sanctioned oligarch in Monaco has reportedly been found dead near Kyiv, having been shot, according to local media. Anastasiia Berezovska, 39, was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice and was wanted for attempted murder over the 29 June blast, which seriously injured millionaire Vadym Yermolaiev, his partner and his teenage son. Her death, if confirmed, removes the prime suspect in a high-profile international case and raises fresh questions about who may have directed the attack.
Berezovska is alleged to have left a package in the entrance hall of a Monaco apartment building before fleeing on foot and driving to Germany. Prosecutors say she was disguised as a man during the attack. Yermolaiev's London-based partner, Anna Nasobina, 46, is fighting for her life after having her legs amputated, while the couple's 13-year-old son suffered minor injuries. Reports say Berezovska arrived in Ukraine on 1 July, her body was discovered around 11pm on 6 July, and two suspects were detained afterwards. There has been no official confirmation from the authorities.
