A devastating house fire in Riverdale, Utah killed a father and four of his children in a tragedy that has deeply affected their family and community. Nate Bird, 38, perished along with four of his six children: Addisyn (15), Rayda (11), Easton (9), and five-year-old Francie. Their mother Lindsey, 37, and two eldest sons Jayden (16) and Teagan (15) survived, though one of the survivors remains hospitalised with critical injuries.
According to family members, Nate heroically rescued his wife and one child before running back into the fully engulfed flames to save his other children who had become trapped. All eight family members were initially pulled from the building; one child died at the scene and Nate and three others died in hospital after the blaze erupted just before 2am on Thursday. One of the surviving sons suffered significant burns whilst attempting to help rescue his siblings.
