The Provo City Library in Utah has confirmed it stocks "Pride Is Love", a board book for young children about a girl and her two dads preparing for a Pride parade, after a conservative outlet accused the library of promoting the title to children. Library services director Carla Z. Gordon rejected claims the book was on display, stating it is instead shelved among more than 2,500 other board books, though she confirmed it is deliberately kept accessible for the library's youngest visitors. The episode has drawn political attention, with Republican Senator Mike Lee publicly criticising the library on social media.

The controversy began when The Cougar Chronicle, a conservative outlet linked to Brigham Young University, posted photos alleging the library's children's section promoted "radical gender theory" and "progressive propaganda", also citing titles such as "Pride Puppy!", "It's a They!" and "My Two Dads and Me". Gordon defended the library's inclusion of such books by pointing to its selection policy, which aims to represent differing perspectives on topics including gender, sexuality and race, and noted that complaints from parents are handled through an established review process that can result in materials being retained, moved or discarded.
