Vanessa Hudgens will receive the Luminary Award at the 2026 HollyShorts Film Festival, recognising her support for filmmakers and original storytelling. The announcement highlights the festival’s role in promoting short films and independent creative talent, with several actors, directors and musicians also set to be honoured.

Zach Cregger will receive the Visionary Award, Jim Cummings the Auteur Award, Alexandra Shipp the Trailblazer Award, Lana Condor the Rising Star Award and Miguel the Music Visionary Award. Shipp’s directorial debut, For Niko, and Condor’s new short, Get Her Back!, will feature on opening night, while Miguel will host a closing-night discussion and screening of Papá Melissa. The Oscar-qualifying festival runs from 13 to 23 August at venues including the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.
