SNL cast member Veronika Slowikowska is set to lead "Stephanie, Bride to Be," a new comedy that marks the directorial debut of Allie Viti and the first narrative feature produced by John Wilson, creator of "How To with John Wilson." The film, currently in production in New York City, brings together a notable ensemble cast including Michael Imperioli, Amy Sedaris, Lea DeLaria and Reina Hardesty, and represents a significant step up for both Slowikowska and Viti in their respective careers.

Written by Viti and Zach Schiffman from a story co-conceived with Slowikowska, the comedy follows Stephanie as her "proposal party" spirals into chaos while she awaits her boyfriend's arrival, complicated by her parents (played by Sedaris and Imperioli), an unexpected ex (Hardesty), and an impatient restaurant manager (DeLaria). The project is a co-production between Wilson's Peanut World Pictures and JR Rappaport's Glasshouse Pictures, with Slowikowska also serving as an executive producer. Slowikowska, a Canadian comedian who joined SNL last year, has recent credits including "Poker Face," "Tires" and the currently-in-theatres "One Night Only," alongside upcoming roles in "Close to Nowhere" and "Turpentine."
