Vertical Takes North America For SXSW Thriller ‘The Saviors’ With Adam Scott & Danielle Deadwyler
Vertical has acquired North American distribution rights to "The Saviors," a comedic thriller from director Kevin Hamedani, following the film's premiere at SXSW. The deal secures a theatrical release for March 26, 2027, and marks a notable pickup for Vertical as it continues building a slate of distinctive genre films by name-brand talent.
The film stars Adam Scott and Danielle Deadwyler as a suburban couple, Sean and Kim, who rent their guest house to a Middle Eastern brother and sister, played by Theo Rossi and Nazanin Boniadi, while trying to sell their home and finalise their divorce. As unexplained events unfold ahead of a presidential visit to their town, suspicion grows around the new tenants, prompting Sean and Kim to investigate while rekindling their own relationship. The ensemble cast also includes Kate Berlant, Daveed Diggs, Ron Perlman, Colleen Camp and Greg Kinnear, with the deal negotiated by Vertical alongside CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group; it is Hamedani's third feature, financed by Highway 10 and produced by several backing companies including Amasia and Invention Studios.
