Vidio Teams With ReelShort for First Indonesian Short-Drama Partnership
Indonesian streaming platform Vidio has partnered with ReelShort, the microdrama service owned by Crazy Maple Studio, marking ReelShort's first move into the Indonesian market. Hundreds of ReelShort titles will launch on Vidio from 1 September via a dedicated Short Drama tab, reflecting the rapid growth of bite-sized drama content and reinforcing Vidio's ambition to be Indonesia's most comprehensive entertainment platform. The deal also extends ReelShort's wider push into Southeast Asia, following earlier tie-ups in Thailand and the Philippines.
The catalogue spans genres including fantasy, family drama and romance, told in 60-90 second episodes, with more than 200 titles dubbed into Indonesian and further titles subtitled. Beyond distribution, the partners will co-produce new series with Indonesian production houses for release on both platforms, while ReelShort holds an estimated 29% share of global short-form drama revenue and Indonesia accounts for 39% of Asia-Pacific viewership in the format. Vidio, which had 5.8 million paying subscribers in Southeast Asia at the end of the second quarter of 2026 and holds the largest share (20.7%) of Indonesia's SVOD subscriptions, said the deal strengthens its position as demand for short-form content grows.
