Its success highlights continued demand for social, comedy-driven multiplayer games built around sharing unpredictable moments with friends, despite a recent security incident involving user-made content.

The game is a hide-and-seek title in which players use digital painting tools to disguise themselves within environments. It had sold 12.6 million copies by early July, ahead of FC26’s 9.1 million, and later faced malware embedded in some Steam Workshop maps that could install remote-access software; the issue was patched, though the number affected is unknown. Its Steam player peak exceeded 340,000 concurrent users, while comparable recent hits Peak and R.E.P.O. attracted 14.5 million and 19.2 million players respectively.
