VodafoneThree is to launch Vodafone TV in October, a new UK bundled television service combining Netflix, HBO Max and live channels in a single package. The move comes just over a year after Vodafone and Three merged to form VodafoneThree, and positions the operator as a fresh challenger to established pay-TV providers such as Sky and Virgin Media, while also tying into its rollout of a new 5G service via a companion mobile app.

Subscribers will need a dedicated set-top box, and the service will launch with Netflix and HBO Max included, with the option to add other streaming platforms such as Disney+, YouTube Premium, DAZN and Prime Video on a rolling 30-day basis. It also incorporates the Freely free-TV service for terrestrial channels and on-demand content, plus a Vodafone Box Office for film purchases. Executives from VodafoneThree and Warner Bros. Discovery framed the launch as simplifying entertainment access, though pricing details have yet to be confirmed, which will be key given ongoing cost-of-living pressures on UK households.
