VOIVOD Cancels October 2026 U.S. Tour Due To A ‘Family Health Emergency’

Blabbermouth ·

Canada's heavy metal band VOIVOD has cancelled their October 2026 U.S. tour, scheduled to begin on 8 October in Youngstown, Ohio, citing a family health emergency. The band stated they cannot commit to rescheduled dates at present and asked fans to wait for ticketing system alerts before seeking refunds. Supporting act BAT, the Richmond, Virginia metal-punk trio, was also affected by the cancellation.

The cancellation comes amid serious health challenges affecting the VOIVOD family. Drummer Michel "Away" Langevin's brother Carol has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at age 60, prompting a GoFundMe campaign. The band also noted that former vocalist E-Force is battling prostate cancer whilst still touring with the group, and singer Snake's partner Christine is facing colorectal cancer. The band, credited as one of Canada's "big four" thrash metal acts, has experienced tragedy before: guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour died from cancer complications in 2005.
