## Key points

- Anne Egglestone received an 18-week suspended sentence.
- She has 19 previous convictions for 74 offences.
- Neighbours say they remain fearful after years of abuse.

## Summary

Anne Egglestone, 63, has received a suspended sentence after admitting offences including assaulting four police officers and a neighbour, following a decade of repeated anti-social behaviour. Residents in Thorpe St Andrew near Norwich say they remain frightened and feel confined in their homes, and are frustrated that her latest sentence does not require her to serve time in prison.

Egglestone has 19 previous convictions covering 74 offences, including abuse of neighbours and police, intrusive CCTV use and repeated calls to police. For the latest offences, Norwich Crown Court imposed an 18-week prison sentence suspended for two years, a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order and costs and compensation of almost £700. The incident followed an assault at a garden gathering on 16 August; reports say four officers were also assaulted during her arrest.
