## Key points

- Rep Juan Ciscomani wins Arizona GOP primary unopposed, backed by Trump
- Seeking third term in a swing district Democrats want to flip
- District covers Tucson suburbs in south-eastern Arizona

## Summary

Republican Congressman Juan Ciscomani has secured his party's nomination for a third term in Arizona's competitive 6th Congressional District, running unopposed in the primary with the backing of President Donald Trump. The seat is considered a key battleground that Democrats are hoping to flip as they seek to retake control of the House of Representatives in November's midterm elections.

Ciscomani, who is regarded as a moderate Republican, represents a district in south-eastern Arizona covering Tucson's suburbs. His unopposed primary run and Trump's endorsement position him for what is expected to be a closely fought general election battle in one of the chamber's most competitive districts.
