Wardogs’ Honeymoon Period Is Officially Coming to an End

Polygon · 42 minutes ago

Wardogs has enjoyed a hugely successful Steam Early Access launch, but players are increasingly concerned that its emerging meta is becoming repetitive and overly defensive. Teams are reportedly concentrating around forward operating bases (FOBs), using drills to attract the hot zone and scoring efficiently without engaging in as many direct fights.

The shooter peaked at 428,666 concurrent players during its first weekend, losing only around 26,000 players by the second. Complaints focus on the dominance of FOBs, drills and mortars, alongside concerns that Level 4 armour can make heavily equipped players excessively difficult to kill. As Wardogs remains in early access, players hope balancing changes arrive with Season Two on 15 October.
