WARRIOR SOUL’s KORY CLARKE Explains Delay In Completing New Album ‘Rock ‘Em, Sock ‘Em’

Blabbermouth ·

Kory Clarke says Warrior Soul’s next album, tentatively titled “Rock ’Em, Sock ’Em”, is taking longer because the band members are spread across different places and he is striving for a polished sound. The record will follow 2022’s “Out On Bail”, and Clarke says he is pleased with how it is developing.

Clarke is playing much of the album’s drums himself. An unfinished, unmastered track is due to be played in Newcastle, while another song, “The New Gods”, criticises wealthy billionaires and artificial intelligence. He also described “Slab City” as being about a lawless, transient settlement; the album’s release date was not given.

  • Warrior Soul’s new album is still in progress.
  • Clarke cites scattered band members and his perfectionism for the delay.
  • An unfinished track is set to be played in Newcastle.

Warrior Soul is an American hard rock band led by singer Kory Clarke. The group has released several albums since forming in the late 1980s, with Clarke’s vocals and socially critical lyrics central to its identity.

The new record is planned to follow Out On Bail, released in 2022. Its working title is Rock ’Em, Sock ’Em, and Clarke has described songs that address subjects including wealth, artificial intelligence and Slab City, a settlement in California known for its informal, transient community.

The album’s progress matters to fans waiting for new material, but no release date has been announced. Its development also reflects the practical challenge of recording when band members are based in different places.
