Warwickshire secured their ninth County Championship title by beating Leicestershire by an innings and 79 runs at Edgbaston. The victory, completed in three days, confirmed their first championship since 2021 after an impressive late-season run of five wins in six matches.

Leicestershire were dismissed for 125 and 168, while Warwickshire made 372, led by Sam Hain’s 142 and Ed Barnard’s 88. Ethan Bamber took 5-52 in the second innings and finished with match figures of 9-94; Bamber ended the season as Division One’s leading wicket-taker with 69, while Hain contributed 1,048 runs.
