## Key points

- Aerosmith played live for the first time in three years.
- Dave Grohl drummed for most of the first show.
- Steven Tyler hinted the band may perform again.

## Summary

Aerosmith returned to the stage for two Hollywood Bowl shows, their first live performances in three years after Steven Tyler’s larynx injury brought their touring days to an end. The concerts featured a large cast of guest performers and musicians, including Dave Grohl on drums for most of the first show.

The 29 October and 1 November concerts included sets and Aerosmith covers by Guns N’ Roses, the Black Crowes, Heart, Billy Idol and others. Aerosmith played a six-song set on the first night, joined by Johnny Depp on guitar and original drummer Joey Kramer for the closing “Walk This Way”; the second show also featured “Come Together”. Comedian Bill Burr called the concerts the band’s final two shows, but Tyler joked that Aerosmith could not be got rid of.
