## Key points

- Ali G teased Noel Gallagher about Oasis’s comeback at a cinema.
- The clip promotes Sacha Baron Cohen’s new film.
- Oasis have 42 sold-out tour dates planned for 2027.

## Summary

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Ali G character surprised Noel Gallagher at a packed cinema, teasing the Oasis reunion and pretending to mistake him for “Nigel Gallagher”. The video was shared to promote Cohen’s new film, which opened in cinemas the day before, and revisits the pair’s earlier public joke about Ali G.

The clip also includes Ali G offering audience members selfies and other comic services. Gallagher previously joked in 2015 that he sent his children to private school so they would not speak like Ali G; Cohen has defended reviving the character amid criticism that it perpetuates racial stereotypes. Oasis reunited last year after splitting in 2009 and are preparing a sold-out 42-date tour in 2027.
