Amyl & The Sniffers frontwoman Amy Taylor joined Swedish punk band Viagra Boys on stage at FORWARDS Bristol 2026, performing their cover of John Prine's 'In Spite Of Ourselves' live for the first time. The surprise appearance took place during Viagra Boys' set at Clifton Downs on 30 August, delighting fans with a rare live outing for a collaboration first released years earlier.

Viagra Boys originally teamed up with Taylor in 2020 to cover the 1999 Prine and Iris DeMent duet, with their version later featured on the band's second album, 'Welfare Jazz'. Frontman Sebastian Murphy previously said Taylor's "unique voice" made her the obvious choice for the track, while Taylor credited the collaboration with introducing her to Prine's music. The performance comes as Viagra Boys work on new material following 2025's 'Viagr Aboys', and as Amyl & The Sniffers prepare to release their live album 'Truth Or Consequence' on 4 September.
