Watch Björk Throw an Eclipse Rave in a Balloon Dress
Björk headlined an eclipse-themed rave at Echolalia, a one-day festival in Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, performing during the solar eclipse’s moment of totality. Her appearance, in a balloon gown by designer Robert Wun, drew attention to the event’s mix of experimental music, visual spectacle and Icelandic cultural history.
Around 7,000 people attended Björk’s hour-long set at Víðistaðatún sculpture park, where she played music including tracks by Rosalía, Kelela and Marina Herlop. The festival also featured Arca, 33EMYBW, Loscaballos and Icelandic artists, while marking the 40th anniversary of the Bad Taste label; a related Björk exhibition at the National Gallery runs until 19 September.
