Watch: Fishermen rescued after five days adrift in cool box
Two fishermen have been rescued by the Mexican Navy after spending five days adrift at sea off the coast of Chiapas, Mexico. The men, aged 53 and 32, survived by clinging to a floating cool box normally used to store their catch, after their fishing cooperative lost contact with them and raised the alarm.
Naval authorities launched a search operation on 15 August after receiving a distress call, and located the pair alive roughly 150 miles off the Chiapas coast on 19 August. Both men underwent medical evaluation following the rescue before being reunited with their families.
