Hilary Duff surprised fans at Madison Square Garden by bringing out pop-punk band Good Charlotte to perform their 2002 hit "The Anthem" during a stop on her Lucky Me Tour. Benji and Joel Madden joined Duff and her band on stage for the raucous track, delighting the New York crowd, who welcomed the guest appearance with enthusiasm. The moment also highlighted Duff's enduring friendship with Joel Madden, whom she dated between 2004 and 2006, with the pair having remained close alongside their respective spouses.

The Lucky Me Tour, launched in June in support of Duff's latest album, "Luck … or Something," included two nights at Madison Square Garden and will next head to the UK before concluding in Mexico City on 12 February 2027. The album, released via Atlantic on 20 February, marked Duff's first new record in over a decade following 2015's "Breathe In. Breathe Out.", preceded by comeback singles "Mature" and "Roommates". Earlier in 2026 she also toured under the Small Rooms, Big Nerves banner, during which she performed "What Dreams Are Made Of" from "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" live for the first time.
