Richard Hawley made a surprise appearance alongside Reverend And The Makers at Sheffield's Tramlines Festival, joining the band on stage for a rendition of 'Silence Is Talking'. The moment closed out the group's set on the Sarah Nulty Main Stage at Hillsborough Park on Sunday 26 July, and came during an emotional performance in which frontman Jon McClure paid tribute to his late father and pointed out family members watching from the side of the stage.

The band, fronted by McClure, played a set including 'Bassline', 'Haircut' and 'Heavyweight Champion of the World' before Hawley and fellow guest K Dot joined them for the closing number. McClure later thanked fans on Instagram, calling it "a special moment" with "all the family together". The appearance comes after Reverend And The Makers released their eighth studio album, 'Is This How Happiness Feels?', which follows their top 10 record 'Heatwave In The Cold North'; McClure was also recently named the new club chairman of Sheffield FC.
