## Key points

- Frank Hannon joined Y&T for two songs in Rocklin.
- He said Y&T inspired the name of his former band, EARTHSHAKER.
- Dave Meniketti is the only surviving member of Y&T’s debut lineup.

## Summary

TESLA guitarist Frank Hannon joined Y&T on stage in Rocklin, California, to perform two songs, marking a personal tribute to the band that influenced his early musical career. He told the audience that his former band, EARTHSHAKER, took its name from Y&T’s earlier name, Yesterday and Today, and said he felt honoured to play with his hero, Dave Meniketti.

The performance took place on 30 October at Quarry Park Amphitheater: Hannon played “Rescue Me”, from Y&T’s 1981 album *Earthshaker*, and “Earthshaker”, first released on the band’s 1976 debut. Meniketti is the only surviving member of the Y&T lineup that recorded that debut. The article also notes that Y&T’s latest studio album was *Facemelter* in 2010 and that Meniketti said in 2023 he was in complete remission after prostate cancer treatment.
