Turnstile performed The Stone Roses’ ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ live for the first time during their headline show at The Piece Hall in Halifax on 26 August. The cover followed a studio version recorded for Triple J’s ‘Like A Version’ in March, and served as a tribute to Stone Roses bassist Mani, whose recent death made the song especially poignant.

The Baltimore band opened their entrance with Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s ‘Islands In The Stream’, in acknowledgement of Parton’s reported passing earlier that week. Guitarist Meg Mills described ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ as a fitting homage to Mani and praised its iconic bassline; Turnstile will next support Tyler, The Creator at All Points East on 28 and 29 August.
