Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan has said the CGI in Zack Snyder's 2009 film Watchmen has aged poorly, though he remains proud of the memorable opening fight scene between his character, The Comedian, and Ozymandias. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Morgan reflected on the adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons's graphic novel, which divided critics and fans on release but has retained a loyal fanbase over time.

Morgan explained the production worked directly from an annotated copy of the graphic novel rather than a script, with Dave Gibbons present to ensure fidelity, though the film's ending was changed from the book's giant psychic squid due to the effects limitations of 2007. He recalled watching the film recently with his son and being struck by how dated the CGI looked compared with modern standards. He also detailed the demanding eight-day shoot for the opening fight scene, which required 20-hour days and heavy prosthetics, calling the experience gruelling but ultimately "so much fun".
